OUTSTANDING FIELDWORK EDUCATOR AWARD

Recognizing that many fieldwork educators consistently excel in the fieldwork education of students, yet are rarely recognized, the Occupational Therapy Department at UND has established an Outstanding Fieldwork Educator Award. Please take a few minutes to recognize these worthy individuals by filling out the nomination below. Please submit your nomination to Jacque Jones, UND fieldwork assistant at jjones@medicine.nodak.edu by the due dates indicated on the department website.

IN RECOGNITION of outstanding leadership, mentorship and teaching abilities, in providing fieldwork education to UND occupational therapy students, I nominate the following fieldwork educator for the Outstanding Fieldwork Educator Award:

  1. Takes initiative to update knowledge concerning best-practice standards of the profession through self-study, and/or attendance at workshops, seminars, etc.
  2. Is a positive role model for students, demonstrating competency in area of expertise and application of research evidence to occupation-based and client centered practice.
  3. Is able to communicate effectively with students at varying levels of experience and skill and adapts his/her leadership style to meet student needs.
  4. Takes initiative to acquire knowledge of teaching/mentoring strategies and consistently applies information to fieldwork education of occupational therapy students.
  5. Serves as a role model for professionalism through involvement in local, state or national associations and leadership within place of employment.
